Biography: Sarah is a craft facilitator, art therapist, co founder of Magpie’s Nest Community Art Society and co-founder of Another Space. I completed my BA in Psychology and diploma in Art Therapy through the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and have completed year 1 of a Master’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. I feel that I was always a creative soul, looking for my medium. I spent years exploring arts, crafts and music looking for the thing that would allow me to express my creative spark. I realize now that my passion for self-discovery through the arts was what led me to study art therapy. After a fateful painting class in France in 2009, I decided to move to Vancouver and study art therapy. I am an active art therapist working in diverse setting with many different populations. The common thread in my work is the belief that everyone is creative, and a passion for uncovering that creative spark. I spend my spare time seeking inspiration through weaving, knitting, natural dyeing, spinning, and waving strings in front of my cat.
My approach: I believe in the inherently nurturing aspects of art-making. I completed my BA in Psychology and diploma in Art Therapy through the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and have completed year 1 of a Master’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy.
